You will find some help to use our database here:
 
1. Full-text-search, no major or minor letters. Eg: If you are looking for „ice“ you will also find „rice“.
 
2. If you want to limit your research you can type in several words. Eg: „Merkel Bush“ will show you only pictures with the two of them.
 
3. You can exclude words if you type in „-„ directly in front of the word (no space-bar). Eg: Merkel but not with Bush – type in „Merkel -Bush
 
4. You can’t search for words with less than three letters. Eg: If you type in „UN“ you won’t find anything. Please type „United Nations“ instead or „New York“ instead of „NY“.
 
5. You can search for specific dates: Eg: You are looking for Merkel in 2006. Type: Merkel and (von) 2006 (bis) 2006. Or: You are looking for Merkel between June and August 2007. Type: (von) 06.2007 (bis) 08.2007. You can also use the calendar instead.
 
6. If you are not registered you can search for pictures and see a preview. However the pictures are protected. If you are registered you can see thumbnails and previews that are not protected. As a registered user you can also download high-definition-pictures directly or use an individual lightbox.
